Andriod App Problems--Force Close?

Whenever I try to open one of the apps that I downloaded on my android, it says "the application (name) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and then there is a button that says Force Close. I've tried opening it many times and it still doesn't work, I've also shut it off and removed the battery but still same problem. Please help, thanks!
